You can imagine that it gets very crowded during the summer as locals and tourists flock in to enjoy the sun. Apart from that Calais is famous for being the biggest French port and it hosts large shopping centres where one can buy many different goods.
I write this in memory of the beautiful site that last year (2015) it became a refugee and migrant camp for about 6,400 people. A lot of sad stories were featured around this lovely beach, connected with many adults and children who needed medical care, food and shelter.
