Energy Boosting Smoothie

If you need an energy boost, try this smoothie recipe! It is good to note that healthy smoothies are most effective first thing in the morning, about 30 minutes before breakfast.

This recipe is for 2 people, but you can tweak it as required.

You will need:

2 or 3 large oranges

4 or 8 medium sized carrots

A quarter or half a bag of spinach

100ml or 200ml of filtered or spring water.

Remember that you can change the ingredients to your required taste or for the number of people that you are making it for.

Oranges are loaded with vitamin C, otherwise known as ascorbic acid. It is vital for the structure bones, muscles and blood vessels. It also helps to absorb iron which is included in spinach.

Iron is one of the most vital minerals. All human cells contain iron but it is mostly found and needed in the red blood cells. It is useful for fighting fatigue, building the immune system and preventing anaemia.

Carrots contain Beta Carotene which is converted into vitamin A by the body. This is useful for good skin, healthy vision, and a well functioning immune system and mucus membranes.
